General advice – the nurse will give you personal advice tailored to your treatment.

Before treatment

  • Avoid sun, tanning beds and self-tanning for 2–4 weeks before.
  • Come without make-up. Tell us about herpes, isotretinoin (Roaccutan) in the last 6 months, and skin diseases.

After treatment

  • Follow the home care you receive from the nurse carefully; keep the skin moisturised and protected.
  • Avoid sun for several weeks; use SPF 50.
  • Do not pick at scabs or dry skin – let them fall off on their own.
  • Avoid exercise, sauna and strong heat for 48 hours.

This is normal

  • Redness, swelling, dryness and scabbing in the first 5–10 days.
