General advice – the nurse will give you personal advice tailored to your treatment.

Before treatment

  • Tell us about any medicines (especially blood thinners), allergies, pregnancy/breastfeeding, herpes and previous treatments.
  • Come without make-up in the area to be treated, and with freshly washed skin.
  • Avoid alcohol the day before and on the day unless otherwise agreed.
  • Avoid supplements and medicines that increase the tendency to bleed, if your doctor allows it.

After treatment

  • Sleep on your back with your head slightly raised for the first few nights.
  • Avoid big yawns/facial expressions and dentist visits for the first few weeks.
  • Avoid exercise, sauna and massage of the area for 2–4 weeks or for as long as the nurse recommends.
  • Keep an eye on the area and keep it clean.

This is normal

  • Swelling, tenderness and bruising for 1–2 weeks; a feeling of tightness.
  • Small bumps may be felt and normally even out.

When to get in touch

Get in touch if you experience any of this:

  • In case of severe pain, white/pale or bluish skin, visual disturbances, difficulty breathing, severe swelling that spreads, fever or pus: call the clinic on 403 11 017 immediately (outside opening hours: legevakt 116 117 (out-of-hours emergency clinic); in case of acute danger 113 (emergency number)).
  • A thread sticking out through the skin, sores, pus or increasing pain.
